It was a busy, but fun week!

We had our Speedway to Healthy Walkthrough, read aloud practice in small groups (ask your kiddo about trying out different character voices), end of the Native American unit Pueblo Pottery making, AND Read Across America fun 😊.

Six planets will align in the night sky on Feb. 28 (Saturday). Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn will be easier to see with the naked eye. Mercury sits low on the horizon, and Uranus and Neptune will require binoculars or a telescope. The best time to view is around an hour after sunset. Look toward the western horizon. If you see a solid, non-blinking light, it's likely a planet. *edit: I mistakenly said Friday instead of Saturday!

Last week ended our Norse Mythology/Vikings Unit. We made longships, tested them to see if they would float, and had a snack to go with our theme. It was a fun time!

Now, we’re about to start the Solar System Unit (they are currently doing a space brain break as I post this).

Friday was the end of our Vikings Unit, so we celebrated by doing a STEM challenge. Students had to work in groups to create a longship that would float at least 15 seconds. It was frustrating at times, but they pushed through and got it done 👏🏼 . I’ll post some videos next to show them floating.

School will be closed tomorrow, Friday, January 24th.

Completely forgot to get a pic of the kiddos 🤦🏼‍♀️, but I think they enjoyed the Roman Feast today. We had a huge spread and were able to enjoy it some this morning and afternoon 😊.
