✨ Meet Miss Emily - 3’s Team! ✨

Mrs. Emily has always had a special way of connecting with littles. Her love for the Lord shines through her gentle spirit, patience, and the FUN and joy she brings into every room! She’s basically had a baby on her hip since she was one herself, so it’s easy to see how Jesus has been preparing her for this role. She's our own personal Miss Honey (IYKYK)💛

Emily was born and raised in the Concord area and has always called Eden and OBC her second home. In her previous work experience, she worked with preschool-aged children as a ABA Behavior Technician, where she has developed an even deeper love for this precious stage of childhood and a desire to help build a foundation of faith in their lives. Emily's husband Adam serves a Pastor here at OBC, they will celebrate their first anniversary this fall.

Hi everyone! I’m Mrs. Emily, and I’m SO excited to be back at OBC Weekday Preschool for my second year! 💕 My first year was filled with so many sweet memories, and I can’t wait to see what this year brings!

A few fun things about me: I LOVE to sing, be silly, dress up, and make my students laugh! I’m definitely not afraid to be goofy and get right in there with my kiddos. I believe preschool should be a place where children feel safe, loved, encouraged, and free to be themselves while learning and having FUN!

One of my favorite parts of teaching is watching my students learn valuable life skills and grow into well-rounded, kind, confident, and God loving little babes!!

I’m so excited for another year of songs, dancing, dress up, crafts, giggles, learning, and making memories with my sweet little learners! I can’t wait to meet my new class and make Year 2 the best one yet! 🦉🖍️🎶💕

🫶 See you soon, Mrs. Lauren 🥲

Our sweet, talented, amazing Mrs. Lauren will be moving to South Carolina this fall. This is not at all a sad update for the Tesh fam but a big answered prayer as they will be moving back to Mrs. Lauren’s hometown and will have the blessing of being close to family again! This happened quickly but is clearly Jesus doing his thing and we are so happy for them 🥹🩵

Weekday Families,
This is the truest definition of bittersweet. I have missed my family and prayed for 14 years to be closer to them. This position for my husband Jeremy truly fell into his lap, and we’re thanking Jesus for this YES! We are excited for this new season, and I am also so sad to be leaving Eden. I will always treasure the memories of the best year of preschool ever at OBC Weekday Pre-K! It was a joy to get to know all of your littles this last year, and I know they are absolutely going to thrive as they move up to their new classrooms this fall. To my babies moving up to 4's - I can't wait to introduce you to Mrs. Kim! Jesus picked her just for you!! And I sure will miss all of you!“

✨Meet Mrs. Kim - Pre-K 4✨

We LOVE when Jesus does His thing and timing, the the right person, passion, and a need He saw coming long before we did all line up perfectly! 🙌🏼

Kim absolutely checked those boxes for us this year, and we are SO grateful to have her on our team! We're so excited to give her a space to bring together her expertise in teaching littles, her love for Jesus and community, and her genuine joy! It truly feels like the perfect fit at the perfect time. We hit a home run here, fam🫶🥳

Hello Weekday families!
My name is Kim. My husband, Houston, and I have been together 14 years and married for 6. Our sweet baby Davy joined us in 2024. We love Rockingham County and our community! We have been members at OBC for several years, and I am so excited to be working in our home church. *Fun fact* My husband and I were baptized together in 2022.

I began my teaching journey in 2012 after graduating from Averett University. I have since earned my master’s degree in Reading Education from UNCC. Before stepping away from the classroom to stay home with Davy, I taught K, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades. Spending the last year at home with my toddler has given me an even greater appreciation for how young children learn best…through play, exploration, stories, music, conversation, and loving relationships.

A few things about me:
I love having fun (at school and home)
I LOVE reading. Audiobooks, Kindle books, physical books. You name it. I love it.
Children’s books are some of my favorite ones to read. I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan.
Davy and I love visiting parks, children’s museums and libraries together.
Spending time with our family and friends fills my heart with so much joy.

I believe that parents are a child’s first and most important teachers. I look forward to partnering with you throughout the year as we celebrate your child’s growth together. I am praying for a wonderful school year filled with learning, laughter, and lots of special memories. I can’t wait to meet you all!

✨Meet Mrs. Sheri - Pre-K 4✨

You know those people who you can trust to handle anything and do it better? That's Sheri Murphy! She's our resident "Pre-K Gigi" and all of our littles know it no matter what class they're in! Her 3 Grandkids sparked a love for littles in her that's contagious and we're so thankful she wanted to be a part of our team the second she heard about it!

We're grateful for Mrs. Sheri's commitment to loving our littles and their families so well again in our second year! She's our go-to-gal 🫶

Hello OBC Pre-K Family,
My name is Sheri Murphy, and I have lived in Rockingham County my whole life. I truly love being close to my family and my church family at Osborne. I have loved watching Freedom Academy and OBC Pre-K come together to teach our students. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to be a small part of this amazing group of educators. My passion was law enforcement in my younger days. I graduated from Basic Law Enforcement Training at the North Carolina Justice Academy, and I worked with the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Department. I later transferred to the Rockingham County 911 Center, and I finished my 30 years of employment with Rockingham County Emergency Services. I met my husband, Mike Murphy, with the North Carolina Highway Patrol in 1982, and we were married in 1984. We were so blessed to have our son, Ryan Murphy, who serves as a Pastor at Osborne Baptist Church. After retirement in 2012, I wanted to volunteer and serve the Lord as much as possible—especially with students. My 3 grandchildren have been a tremendous blessing in my life, and have reignited my love for the "littles", and helping with OBC Pre-K in the same regard has truly blessed me. I thank the Lord each day that I can serve Him and am looking forward to a great year 2 as classroom Gigi and TA this fall!

Fun Fact: Mrs. Sheri is basically a meteorologist, she is going to get it right whether it's rain, snow, or storms we can count on her to keep us safe and informed. It's actually amazing!

One thing about us☝️🙏 we're going to pray for and with our littles!

We're going to teach them how to pray for each other - out loud, we're going to thank Jesus for little things like butterflies, and Godzilla?🤣 (and we did almost every single week) because He can hear us! We're going to thank Him for babies, and pray for our pastors and teachers when they have extra big jobs to do! We're going to ask Him for big things like to help the people we love when they're really sick. We also may be telling on our siblings a lot, and once one friend's dog is hurt, evvvvverybodys dog is hurt! And we're here for it 😎🫶

Jesus hears us when we talk to him, about anything, anywhere, anytime!

Every single day we ask Jesus for each of our littles know Jesus and choose Him as their boss when they're young, and that they'll follow Him all of their days - out loud, so they can hear us. And you can bet we're already praying that prayer for each of our 26/27 students by name.

Thank you Jesus for 30 new friends coming to hang with us this fall, and for our OG's coming back for another year! We're so thankful for each of them and their grown ups 🥹💚
