The team is what makes the difference. Austin S. is not only a flight instructor, but he is also our Flight Training Coordinator. This demanding job requires him to constantly communicate with students and other instructors on student progress.

He is also a valuable resource for our students to ask questions, get guidance, and make a plan for their success; something other flight schools lack! 😎 This is what sets Thunderbird Aviation, Inc. apart. A good community of people makes your experience with us enjoyable.

It means our students are never lost in their training. They are informed and have the resources available to make sure they are getting the best training experience possible to meet their goals.

The Father’s Day air rides are a wrap at the Crystal Airport Open House. Our Thunderbird Aviation team absolutely knocked it out of the park giving 142 people a great experience with an airplane ride. ✈️

Two milestones in one day! That’s how our students and instructors get it done! 💪🏼

Anna Z. Nailed her first solo and can say she’s flown an airplane by herself. Most pilots remember their first solo as their biggest accomplishment in flying. It is such a rewarding feeling after diving into the unknown and putting the effort in. Congratulations Anna!

Academy College student Jonathan P. dodged the storms yesterday for an early morning check ride today. That’s pretty stressful leading up to a test. He can now fly in the clouds 🌧️ after knocking his Instrument Rating check ride out of the park! Congratulations Jonathan! On to Commercial where we let you see outside again 🤣

As we are working hard to get prepared for this weekend doing the air rides at the Crystal Airport Open House, we reflect on the awesome week we had with our first Young Flyers Camp of the season.

These future aviators were treated with the opportunity to see what a private jet is like! They were flown out to New Richmond, WI to see how the top 1% fly; yet a career in aviation can put them in the front seats!

Our youth camps offer a wide variety of experiences at a reasonable price. Although our camps are full for this summer, make a plan to visit our website thunderbirdaviation.com or give us a call for next summer. Camp dates are published and ready for purchased registrations in January, and they fill up fast! We keep the camp size small on purpose, so that the youngsters get the greatest experience.

Our first Young Flyer's Camp of the summer is a wrap! ✈️ We had a great group of kids that had so much enthusiasm for aviation.

There was some weather during one of the days, but they got to jump into our simulator to practice their aircraft carrier landings 😁.

Big congratulations to Katie! ✈️

After years of training, studying, and putting in the work, Katie has officially been hired by an airline and is ready for her next adventure.

When we asked what she'll miss most, her answer wasn't the airplanes or the airport. It was the people.

Flight school is different than most adult education. You're not just showing up for class and going home. You're celebrating first solos, cheering each other on through checkrides, swapping stories after flights, and helping each other through the tough days. The friendships and community become a huge part of the journey.

Katie has been a big part of that community, and while we're excited to see her spread her wings, we're definitely going to miss having her around.

Congratulations, Katie. The skies are lucky to have you, and we can't wait to see where this career takes you next. ❤️✈️
