I’m not going to promise this will be the last change I make for my real estate business when it comes to logos, but in this moment it truly represents who I am and what I hope for the future. I thought about a dragon, a 20 sided di but a Sankofa bird seemed to just feel right. I definitely copied and pasted the following meaning from Google because it explains it better than I do.

“Sankofa is a word in the Akan language of Ghana that translates to “go back and get it”. It is rooted in the proverb “Se wo were fi na wosan kofa a yenkyiri,” which means, “It is not taboo to go back for what you forgot.”
The Meaning
Looking back to move forward: It represents the philosophy that we must understand, reflect upon, and draw wisdom from our past in order to build a successful future. Reclamation: It emphasizes the importance of reclaiming lost or forgotten pieces of history, tradition, and knowledge to inform our present actions.”

As some of you know and many others don’t, I have been through so many things throughout my lifetime— Good and Bad. I’ve learned to count every experience as a blessing because every single one of them taught me something and brought me to where I am right now. I’m still learning every day.

I’ve also recently felt like myself again. Which, is maybe a weird thing to say. I was always the weird kid- punk rock, skateboarding, guitar playing, ballerina that just didn’t really fit in anywhere. And in real estate for a long time at first I felt like I had to be someone more polished, more proper, more suit and tie. About a year ago, I decided that I needed to go back and find the me that I had lost through marriage, through children through relationships and friendships. So I did and I’m slowing reclaiming the person I was always meant to be.
