Tomorrow is the First Day of School at E.C.H.O.!

The classrooms are ready, the teachers are excited, and we can’t wait to welcome our students back tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26!

We’re looking forward to seeing familiar faces, meeting new students, and kicking off another great year of learning, growing, and making memories together.

This year is extra special as E.C.H.O. Charter School celebrates our 30th year of serving students and families!

Get a good night’s sleep, pack your school supplies, and get ready for a great first day.

The First Day of School Is Almost Here!

Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 26, and now is the time to help students get back into their school-year routine.

Over the next few days, encourage your student to begin going to bed and waking up at the same times they will during the school week. Getting back on a regular sleep schedule before Wednesday can make those first mornings easier and help students arrive at school more rested, alert, and ready to learn.

A strong start to the school year begins before the first bell rings. Start adjusting those bedtimes and morning routines now so everyone is ready to have a great first day at E.C.H.O. Charter School!

A special thank you to the Upper Sioux Police Department and Chief of Police Dan DeSmet for visiting E.C.H.O. Charter School and educating our staff about school safety.

The staff at E.C.H.O. Charter School are excited to welcome students back for the first day of school on Wednesday, August 26!

Our staff have been working hard all week to prepare classrooms and complete training focused on promoting the health, safety, and well-being of our students and staff.

Today’s activities focused on teamwork and communication. Through several team-building challenges, we discovered just how difficult it can be to accomplish a goal without clear communication and cooperation. These activities gave us a chance to learn, laugh, and strengthen our ability to work together as a team.

We are looking forward to a safe, successful, and memorable school year. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back to E.C.H.O. for our 30th year!

The staff at E.C.H.O. Charter School are hard at work getting classrooms, hallways, and everything else ready to welcome everyone back.

30 YEARS OF E.C.H.O.—COME CELEBRATE WITH US!

Thirty years ago, the first group of students entered the halls of E.C.H.O. Charter School. On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, we invite families, students, alumni, and community members to return as we prepare for another exciting school year.

Join us for E.C.H.O. Charter School’s Back to School Night & Registration from 4:00–6:00 p.m.

Come enroll or re-enroll your student, meet our teachers and staff, visit classrooms, ask questions, and get ready for the 2026–2027 school year. Former students are also encouraged to stop by, walk the halls again, reconnect with familiar faces, and reminisce about their days at E.C.H.O.

Supper is covered! We will be serving hot dogs, chips, and baked beans throughout the evening. A free-will donation will be accepted.

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT AT E.C.H.O.!

The countdown is on, and we’re getting ready to welcome our E.C.H.O. students and families back for another exciting school year!

Join us for E.C.H.O. Charter School’s Back to School Night & Registration on Tuesday, August 18, from 4:00–6:00 p.m.

Come explore the school, visit classrooms, meet our staff, take care of registration, ask questions, and get everything ready for the 2026–2027 school year.

And don’t worry about making supper before you come—we’ve got you covered! We’ll be serving hot dogs, chips, and baked beans throughout the evening. A free-will donation will be accepted.

School Is Right Around the Corner!

The start of a new school year will be here before we know it! Families, now is a great time to make sure your student has everything they need to start the year prepared and ready to learn.

14 Days Until School Starts: Time to Reset Those Sleep Schedules!

Here’s today’s fun science fact: Your body has its own internal clock called a circadian rhythm. This roughly 24-hour cycle helps control when you feel awake and when you feel sleepy. Light, meal times, activity, and regular bedtime routines all help tell your brain what time of day it is.

Teenagers also tend to experience a natural shift in their circadian rhythm that can make them want to stay up later and sleep later. That can make those first few early school mornings especially challenging after summer break!

With two weeks to go, now is a great time for students to begin gradually adjusting their schedules. Try moving bedtime and wake-up time about 15–30 minutes earlier every few days until it is close to the schedule you will need for school.

A few things that can help:

• Get some sunlight soon after waking up
• Keep bedtime and wake-up times consistent
• Start winding down before bedtime
• Limit bright screens late at night
• Avoid sleeping too late in the morning, even on weekends

Small changes now can make that first week of school much easier.
