MASTER GARDENER CLASSES beginning in October. Applications are being accepted for the Master Gardener classes in Cambria County that will be beginning on Thursday, October 1st. The volunteer training course is designed to provide anyone interested in gardening with information and skills they need to share their experience and knowledge with others. There is a program fee to cover the cost of training materials and expenses, and classes are going to be held weekly from October 1 to March 25. This year's course will be taught with in-person sessions and online through Zoom meetings.
Volunteer opportunities for Master Gardeners can include, but are not limited to, display tables at local events, answering garden questions during the weekly “Garden Hotline” phone-in-sessions and seasonal “Garden Day” programs with educational presentations on current gardening topics. We also maintain a demonstration garden in Ebensburg. Photos of our garden are found throughout our page. Anyone interested in becoming a Master Gardener or learning more about the program is encouraged to contact the Penn State Extension office in Ebensburg by calling 814-472-7986 or emailing at [email protected].
