A panel discussion titled “Birthright Citizenship: History, Law, and the Supreme Court” will take place from 4:30-6 p.m. Monday, April 20, in Room 1415 of Centennial Hall, UWEC. As the U.S. Supreme Court considers the future of birthright citizenship, this panel brings together leading scholars to examine the constitutional, historical, and legal dimensions of the debate. The discussion will explore the original meaning of the 14th Amendment, its evolution over time, and the broader implications of the current case before the court. Panelists will be César Cuauhtémoc García Hernández, Gregory H. Williams chair in civil rights and civil liberties, The Ohio State University; Dr. Paul Finkelman, visiting professor of law, University of Toledo; and Dr. Kati Barahona-López, associate professor of sociology, UW-Eau Claire. https://blugoldconnect.uwec.edu/MCCS/rsvp_boot?id=392082
