📚 Volunteers Needed for Sherman Elementary School's Fall Scholastic Book Fair! 📚

Our Fall Book Fair is coming up on Thursday, October 15, and we need your help to make it a success!

🗓 October 15
⏰ 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
📍 Sherman Elementary School Gym

Students, families, and staff will once again have the opportunity to discover great books while supporting our school. To make this event possible, we're looking for volunteers to help with:

✅ Setup
✅ Staffing the fair throughout the day
✅ Teardown

Whether you can give an hour or several, we'd love to have you join us. Plus, don't forget that SSC volunteers earn entries into our volunteer appreciation drawing for one of three $100 gift cards!

Hi Families! A bright green sheet will be coming home in your child's folder tonight, if your family is in need of assistance getting a warm coat for your student this winter, please fill out the form and return it in your child's blue folder no later than Sept 18.

🎉 It's Culver's Night at Sherman! 🍔🍦

Join us tonight (Tuesday, September 8) from 4-7pm for our first Culver's Night Fundraiser of the school year!

When you dine at Culver's west (2520 W. Folsom Street), a portion of the evening's sales will be donated to the Sherman Steering Committee (SSC), helping us support Sherman students, teachers, classrooms, and special projects throughout the year.

💙 Last school year, our monthly Culver's Nights raised an incredible $4,522.43 for Sherman. Thank you to everyone who came out to eat, connect with friends, and support our school community!

Let's kick off another great year strong. Grab dinner, treat yourself to some frozen custard, and help make a difference for Sherman students.

🎉 The playground is open! 🎉

We're excited to share that construction on the main portion of Sherman Elementary's new playground is complete, and it's officially open for students to enjoy!

This project wouldn't have been possible without the incredible support of our Sherman families, staff, donors, and community. Thank you for helping bring this vision to life.

A few finishing touches are still on the way: Poured-in-place rubber surfacing beneath the existing accessible swings is scheduled for installation in October. 🪑 A donor recognition bench will also be installed in the coming weeks.

We can't wait to see our students making memories on the new playground this year! 💙💛
