University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Department of Geography & Anthropology Education Institution

The department is comprised of 14 Geography faculty members, 1 Anthropology faculty member, an Administrative Assistant, and a Geospatial Technology Facilitator who serves approximately 150-160 Geography and Geospatial Analysis and Technology majors, 20 Geography minors, 15 Broadfield Social Studies majors, and 50 academic certificate seekers in Anthropology and Geospatial Analysis and Technology.

The department offers a variety of in-person, hybrid, and online courses that address the major sub-disciplines of Geography (human, physical, human-environmental, regional and techniques) and Cultural Anthropology. The department is a leader in providing high impact teaching and learning practices, including field trips and collaborative research between students and faculty. Together, students and faculty routinely present the results of their collaborative research at local, national, and international professional conferences. Graduates of the department are enjoying careers in a gamut of workplaces throughout the world, and we are proud of each and every one of them!
