Da Vinci's Workshop is a special place for young artists to make art. It is also a place where kids are encouraged to use their natural creative abilities, express themselves, and learn new skills. Paula Gorski will be presenting a variety of artistic experiences that will include: printmaking, painting, drawing, sculpture, and collage using a variety of materials. The projects Paula has planned r

ange from still life to sock puppets. And from work that is considered traditional to the Avant Garde. Paula has also developed projects based on creative practices from a variety of cultures. In our classes, we will begin each session with a warm up drawing lesson followed by a presentation for the day. Often, your young artist may be finishing something from the previous week. This is good. Making art is a process that takes time. It also helps teach time management, patience, and attention to detail. Each week Paula will present a new art concept to explore along with the processes they are currently working on. Da Vinci's Workshop offers small classes for ages 5-12. Some info about me, the instructor, Paula Gorski:

I received my B.F.A from UWEC. My emphasis was in painting, and this is still one of the main mediums I like to use. I also have specializations in Elementary Education Special Ed and Montessori Education. I taught in 1st and 2nd grade elementary classrooms in the US and Boliva for 15 years. I continue to work as a substitute teacher in the Eau Claire Area School District along with creating my art and entering it in public shows. Recently I also worked as a Artist In Residence at Lakeshore and Longfellow schools as a storyteller/artist. A public art project I have coordinated for the last decade, "Art on the Bus," received 2nd place in Volume One's "Best Public Art Installation" in 2014. "Art on the Bus" is often the first art exhibition for the young artists and the images brighten people's day. I look forward to guiding your young artist in upcoming classes.
