Come on Husky Nation, let's pack the auditorium! Eau Claire North's Black Student Union would like to invite all of Husky Nation, all ECASD staff, and surrounding community members to join us as we follow a local mentoring group on the adventure of a lifetime. Black Student Union will be showing the Power of Perception South Africa Documentary February 29th at 4:30 PM in the auditorium. Power of Perception, Inc., also known as P.O.P, is a local mentoring organization founded by Dennis Beale in February of 2019. P.O.P is geared towards providing mentorship and resources for African American & Biracial youth in grades 6-12 throughout the Eau Claire Area School District. Dennis Beale's unwavering motivation to provide for students is exactly what fuels the work being done by Power Of Perception today. Following the documentary, we will be welcoming CEO & Founder Dennis Beale as he shares his own life experiences that motivated him the start Power of Perception, Inc., the goal of the organization and what motivated the work it took to make the emersion trip possible.

ECN Black Student Union High School

ECN Black Student Union would like to express a special thanks to Superintendent Johnson and the ECASD school board for this special recognition certificate given to our organization. As BSU continues to grow, we appreciate all of the help and support we have received in the past. We also thank you for your continued support towards a bright future!!!!!!

Monday February 28th, Black Student Union rapped up Black History Month with our first ever annual soul food dinner and a movie event. BSU thanks all of the students, parents, and building staff who attended or made a donation to the group. Be on the look out for our next meeting/event!!!!

Day 2 ECN Black History Month Trivia

In honor of Black History, Eau Claire North's own Black Student Union will host its first ever Black History Month Trivia. BSU students have created trivia questions that will be read aloud daily over the morning announcements. Students will then have the opportunity during husky time to answer the question for a chance to be entered in a drawing for a prize.

For day 1 we have selected Martin Luther King JR.

Black Student Union is open to ALL EAU CLAIRE NORTH students, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, or sexual orientation. We meet in the Student Success Center every other week to discuss relevant topics, cultural history, upcoming events, fundraising opportunities, volunteering, as well as ideas on improving our learning environment. BSU strives to provide students of color the opportunity to help educate our student body on the African American culture. All while still learning more about our own culture.

BSU welcomes all members from ALL backgrounds. Our goal is to not only create a welcoming environment for all students, but to also improve the overall experience for African American students at Eau Claire North High School.
