STAFF APPRECIATION SPOTLIGHT

On June 2, we had the pleasure of celebrating our amazing team with a Staff Appreciation Luncheon as a small token of gratitude for everything they do throughout the year.

Thank you to each and every member of our Hawkswood School family for your unwavering dedication, professionalism, and heart. We are truly grateful for all that you do and proud to have such an exceptional team.

Learning Goes Beyond the Classroom!

These students were introduced to the vocabulary words for their newest unit, **"By the Sea."

To kick off the unit, students participated in a Vocabulary Scavenger Hunt, searching for words and clues while exploring outside the classroom. This engaging activity got everyone moving, thinking, and collaborating as they became familiar with new vocabulary in a fun and interactive way.

We love finding creative ways to make learning active and memorable.

Science got EXTRA sweet in class this week! After diving into the fascinating world of DNA and inherited traits, our students put their knowledge to the test by creating their very own DNA strands using Twizzlers and gummy bears!

Who knew genetics could be this sweet?

Hawkswood School’s Fine Art Show was a huge success!

Featuring incredible student artwork created throughout the school year, this special exhibit showcased the creativity, talent, and hard work of our amazing students — all guided by our exceptionally talented art teacher, Ms. Monique!

From colorful paintings to unique mixed-media creations, every piece reflected the imagination and dedication of our student artists. We are so proud of all they accomplished this year and were thrilled to celebrate their artistic achievements with our Hawkswood community.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our students and make this event so special!

Here is one of our students hard at work in the kitchen preparing a delicious quiche! He carefully rolled out the dough, used a round pastry cutter, and placed each piece into the pans. Activities like these help students build valuable cooking, fine motor, and independent living skills while having fun and creating something tasty!

Our students had a blast experimenting with chemical reactions and changes while creating “Elephant Toothpaste!”

Students gathered materials for the experiment, made hypotheses, and carefully observed the exciting results of combining ingredients. It was a fun, hands-on way to explore science concepts while encouraging curiosity, critical thinking, and teamwork!

We are all still “ON CLOUD NINE” from last week’s magical prom night!

Our students had an absolutely wonderful time making memories and celebrating together. It was truly a special evening filled with smiles, laughter, and joy.
