Your objective as a disciplined student who is looking for a "foot in the door" for your career to start....requires you to Network & Intern EFFECTIVELY!

Seek out 10 companies a week to approach. The company should have a history of Internships. Make sure it is the best use of your time! Now approach 3 ways: Phone - Email - & "Snail" mail & convince them why you are the BEST INVESTMENT!

Make sure your resume is not generic. Create a customized opening objective that is directed to that company specifically!
Address a person you know or want to work with. Utilize LinkedIn to do this effectively.
Remember, "Its not who you know...it's not what you know...it's who knows what you know!"

Look for INTERNSHIPS!! Because not only do you need to have connections but you need the life experiences & educational exposure!!

Start promoting yourself on LinkedIn NOW!
Look at 5 groups that interest you & how you could & should join in a "conversation" with people within that group.
From there you ask relevant questions or comments and then "connect" with these people.
Always remember...." It's not WHO you know....it's not WHAT you know....it's WHO knows what YOU know!"
Remember connecting & developing a relationship with someone is critically important!!!

Are you clear on your major & how you want to make yourself marketable?
Do research by your junior year & pursue Internships that are somewhat applicable to what you want. This way you can find out whether you even like the field.
Plus you can establish referrals who can help you get hired.
You must get this in motion by the end of your Jr. year.
Be disciplined & focused & achieve the goals you deserve!

New semester.....new opportunities! Set 3 goals to be reached every week. No more than 3....BUT complete each one & enjoy the satisfaction of what YOU have achieved! Set goals...attack them & complete them!

Celebrate your semester break with family & or friends. Rest up & ready for a strong, results oriented 2nd semester. Your college years will be over sooner than you expect.
Start looking for viable internships by February to make yourself more marketable!

Cheating on a test will backfire on you at some point. The quality of honesty is a trait that follows you in your career.
College is a place to learn & apply later in some way. Maintain a level of ethical actions. It WILL pay off!

Why do more young men drop out of college than gals? The opportunities are the same & your education is the best investment you will ever make for yourself!
Stay focused & disciplined... The results will last a lifetime!

Have confidence in yourself when walking in to take an exam. Remember "The Little Engine That Could"....."I think I can, I think I can"
Believe that YOU can & improve your score. Fear can affect your outcome.
"Think you can, think you can't either way you are right!"
