This week Preble County ESC Preschool organized and hosted a Conscious Discipline class at Eaton High School. The Conscious Discipline program teaches strategies to parents and staff to help them to regulate themselves first, and create environments where children can do the same. Career Connections Director, Harold Niehaus and Superintendent, Mike Derringer were in attendance this morning to receive Preble County ESC's award at the Business Advisory Council Townhall in Columbus. The Preble County Business Advisory Council was rated 4 stars; which is the highest rating!

Business Advisory Councils foster cooperation among schools, businesses, and the communities they serve. This work ensures that the work of educators aligns with the needs of businesses.

Lieutenant Governor Jim Tressel was also in attendance at the event, continuing to show his support of workforce readiness for students. We appreciate his continued efforts to improve collaboration between educators and business leaders in Ohio.

Tonight at our board meeting we recognized the winners of our 2025-2026 enrichment activities and Franklin B Walter’s scholarship recipients! Thank you to all who were able to attend, and congratulations again to all of the students who were recognized for their achievements tonight.
