Warning to parents: I discovered during summer camp that when a child with an air tag is riding with me it notifies me on my iPhone.
The problem with this is that if the child was abducted and the abductor had an iPhone, they would be notified that the child they abducted was carrying and air tag.
I looked into this with Apple and they say the reason it notifies you that there is an AirTag riding with you that’s not registered to you is so you know if someone slipped one into your car without your permission to track you, you would be alerted to it.
Makes sense I guess but it won’t help you locate your child if they are abducted by someone with an iphone.
