Area providers please take a few minutes and respond to the CPAOM provider audit.

A performance audit of Michigan’s child care programs has been announced.

As that process moves forward, CPAOM is launching a provider-led audit to document another part of the system that often goes unmeasured: what child care providers themselves invest to keep care accessible for families.

Public funding plays an important role in sustaining child care. Providers also invest back through out-of-pocket expenses, unpaid labor, and personal sacrifice that rarely appear in formal reviews.

This effort is not about opposing oversight. It is about adding context and balance so the full picture of child care in Michigan is understood.

If we’re auditing programs, let’s audit the whole picture.
