Time to meet the next fellow! We are pleased to introduce Jolie Gittleman. Jolie is a Fine Arts Major at the University of Pennsylvania, also studying biology. She plans to study medical illustration after college, because she is passionate about using design and visuals to help people understand their bodies in a way words often cannot. Some of her past work includes designing a book for the Rebel Chefs Cooking Crew run by the Penn Netter Center. She just got home from a semester abroad in London, where she spent lots of time traveling and painting. This summer with PPEH, she hopes to create informative and visually pleasing educational materials about to improve Philadelphia’s water health literacy.

Our first day as part of the On-Water Intensive! We were so excited to finally meet one another! After meeting all of our wonderful instructors, we travel via boat to Bartram's Garden. Along the way, we learned and observed how the river has and is changing. More to come!

We were all super excited to start our two week On-Water Intensive today! Glad to finally meet one another!

Our next team member we would like you to meet is Grace Boroughs! Grace was born and raised in South Africa, and is a rising Junior at the University of Pennsylvania. She majors in Environmental Management and Sustainability with Minors in Fine Arts and Urban Studies. Grace worked for the Global Water Alliance on educational workshops around water in Philadelphia for the last year, which has inspired her to get involved with more research with PPEH. Through her work with Sink Float Spill Flow this summer, she is looking for means through which to combine all these fields, and make positive changes to the environment.
