💜 Wear Purple for Kaitlyn’s Law — Thursday! 💜

This Thursday, we invite all of our Barton Bears to wear purple as we recognize Kaitlyn’s Law, an important California child-safety law created in memory of Kaitlyn Mahoney, a young girl who tragically lost her life after being left unattended in a vehicle.

Kaitlyn’s Law reminds us of a simple but powerful message: children should never be left unattended in a vehicle. Even a brief moment can have serious consequences.

💜 This Thursday, let’s wear purple to remember Kaitlyn, raise awareness, and remind our community that every child’s safety matters.

Thank you, Barton Bears, for helping us spread this important message! 🐻💜

Juneteenth (short for “June Nineteenth”) is a federal holiday in the United States that commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. It marks the date in 1865 when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation, bringing freedom to enslaved people in the state.

🇺🇸 Happy Flag Day from Clara Barton Elementary! 🇺🇸

Today, June 14th, we celebrate Flag Day, a day that honors the adoption of the American flag in 1777.

Did you know? The 50 stars on the flag represent the 50 states, while the 13 stripes symbolize the original 13 colonies. The colors also carry meaning: red stands for courage and valor, white for purity and innocence, and blue for vigilance, perseverance, and justice.

As we celebrate today, we reflect on the values of unity, freedom, and service that our flag represents.

Wishing all of our Barton Bears and families a wonderful Flag Day! ❤️🤍💙

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our amazing Clara Barton moms! 💐

Today we celebrate the women who somehow do it all — homework helper, lunch maker, nurse, chauffeur, counselor, cheerleader, event planner, and professional finder of missing shoes and water bottles. 😄
