We are delighted to welcome violist Matthew Cohen and pianist Zhenni Li-Cohen to Orcas Island this summer! They will be performing both together and also individually throughout our 29th Season. Look forward to hearing Matthew and Zhenni playing British composer York Bowen's deeply romantic Phantasy for viola and piano on our opening night concert (Dueling Strings), which is less than 3 weeks away!

Just your OICMF staff “taking it easy” as we gear up for next month’s festival! 😉
While the musicians are furiously practicing preparing for the concert stage, Production Manager Jolene Versailles, Festival Manager Linda Slone, and Executive Director Christopher Peacock are hard at work behind-the-scenes in preparation for an incredible season this August.

This August, we are so excited to welcome back cellist Lachezar Kostov! Associate Principal Cellist of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Lachezar is an internationally celebrated musician whose artistry has taken him to stages across the United States, Europe, and Japan. This summer, you can look forward to hearing him play Chopin, Schubert, Brahms, and more! 🎵

Lachezar will be performing throughout the entirety of the festival this summer (minus the four piano spectacular, of course!) and tickets are available now! Visit oicmf.org for more information.

Picture this: these two pianos onstage plus TWO MORE! If you are a lover of pianos, then you cannot miss our concerts on August 14 and 15: Four Piano Spectacular!

This program, starring pianists Lisa Bergman, Zhenni Li-Cohen, Jon Kimura Parker, and Adam Stern, will take you on an all-piano journey featuring a wide range of music from Joplin to Mozart to Piazzolla.

OICMF is excited to welcome Allegra Lilly, principal harp of the Houston Symphony and Associate Professor of Harp at Rice University, to our 29th August Season this year! Allegra has appeared with leading orchestras across the country and has performed in many ensembles and chamber festivals. Among her appearances throughout our festival, you can look forward to Allegra performing the bright and delightful Harp Concerto by Handel during the concert "Intonations."

Making his OICMF debut, Robin Kesselman will be joining us this August on double bass! Robin has been principal bass of the Houston Symphony since 2014, and he has performed internationally as a soloist and as a chamber musician. You can look forward to hearing him play one of the most iconic chamber works for bass, Schubert's Trout Quintet, this summer along with many other performances throughout our season.

Check our social media pages tomorrow to learn about another artist who is making her OICMF debut as well. (Hint: Robin knows her very well and they play together often!)

We are beginning to announce our artists for August, and we are so excited to kick things off with two familiar faces from last summer—violinist Zachary DePue 🎻 and cellist Ani Aznavoorian 🎶
