Our Tent rental program has been valiantly tackling a wide variety of public and private events this summer. Last weekend we had the opportunity to once again provide a tent to the Fly In at the Eastsound Airport. Our PR officer Lion Penny took these photos of our 20’x 40’ tent in action amidst the planes.

Our Tent Rental program is one of our greatest financial contributors to the rest of our programs and relies primarily on volunteers to succeed. These large tents take a team of people to erect, therefore the success of our club lies very much in the hands of our volunteers.

Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer and learning more about our Tent Rental Program are greatly encouraged to reach out!

✨Annual Salmon BBQ Report!!✨

🎊 We had a wonderful time serving this beautiful Orcas community this Fourth of July weekend! All of us at the Orcas Island Lions Club want to take a moment to thank everyone for attending and thank all of our volunteers who showed up to make this happen.

💗We want to take the time to explain the significance of this event: The Annual Salmon BBQ is not only a meal shared with friends, family, and your fellow community members, it is one of our biggest fundraising events. As a nonprofit organization, all of the funds raised goes into the programs we run; from college scholarships for local high school graduates to our mobility equipment program, to summer camp scholarships for local children, and supporting other local nonprofit organizations, our programs support community members of all ages and demographics.

🏝️When you purchase a meal ticket, you are supporting your community in a myriad of ways. It is a special privilege to serve our Island and welcome all to participate.

✨We want to extend a special thanks to our young table bussers and desert servers, who worked diligently throughout the event and inspire the future of our club in the spirit of Lionism. 🦁

Yesterday the OILC had the honor of presenting Bob Irwin and his family with a commemorative plaque in gratitude for their outstanding contribution to the Annual Salmon BBQ.

Bob and his crew have shown up year after year with their smokers and grills, with hard work and dedication they delivered perfectly cooked salmon and chicken for the community this weekend.

We couldn’t run this event without the Irwin Family! 🎊

✨It’s that time of year again! ✨

🦁 OILC is gearing up for our Annual Salmon BBQ next weekend!! 🐟🍽️ 🥳

Mark your calendars and come join us at the Orcas Island Fire and Rescue firehall for a nourishing meal next Saturday, July 4th, 3pm to 7pm.

If you haven’t bought tickets already and are planning on attending, please show up early to ensure an available plate. If you have bought tickets, also don’t delay, as we will be selling plates at the door till the food is gone and we can’t guarantee there will be salmon left if you show up after 6:30.

We invite all to attend and look forward to seeing you!!

The Orcas Island Lions Clup presented a check to the Orcas Island Rowing Club to support Hannah Rounds, who is going on to participate in the National Rowing Competition in Florida 🚣‍♀️
