School starts Monday, August 31, and we cannot wait to see everyone! There are a few things coming up this week before we officially kick off the new year:

🎒 Elementary Meet the Teacher Events: Stop by your child's elementary school Thursday, August 27 from 3:30-4:30pm to meet school staff before the year starts!

📓 EMS Crusader Day: Turn in your middle schooler's back-to-school forms, pick up their schedule, and learn about the new year Friday, August 28. Student ID pictures will be taken. Last names A-G from 8-9:30am, H-O from 9:30-11:30am, and P-Z from 12:45-2:45pm.

☘️ EHS Schedule Pickup: Makeup day for all students Thursday, August 27 from 1-2:30pm for any new or returning student that did not already pick up their schedule.

🚍️ Transportation: Bus stops and times will be sent to eligible families this evening via email.

Communications have been sent from schools via ClassDojo, email, and regular mail, however, as enrollments are being processed, we know some of our newly enrolled families may not have received all communications. If you have any questions this week, please call your child's school between 8am and 4pm. Can't wait to see you all for the half day on Monday!

We're taking another look back at the 25-26 year, with a peek into Ms. Roell's GSRP preschool class and their Pet Study! Some activities throughout the study included transforming their dramatic play area into a pet shop and veterinary clinic, creating portraits of either their own pet or a pet they would like to have in the future, and adopting and naming their own pretend fish to conclude the study. 🐱🐶🐠

Through these hands-on experiences, students explored different types of pets, learned about their needs and care, and discovered the important role pets play in our lives while building important kindergarten readiness skills!

As summer construction continues at Bellview, Crescentwood, and Pleasantview, and as we prepare our schools for the new year, we want to reassure the community that all of our ECS polling locations will be open and fully accessible for Tuesday's primary election.

🚩 Sidewalks to the main doors at those three buildings are being installed this week and will be accessible on Election Day.
🚩 Construction will be paused on Election Day to avoid disruptions to voters.
🚩 Street parking will be available in front of Pleasantview and Bellview, with handicap accessible parking clearly marked. At Crescentwood, the loop in front of the building will be available for parking as well.
🚩 Polling locations at Forest Park and Eastpointe High School are not affected by any construction.

If you haven't already voted early or absentee, we encourage our entire community to get out and vote Tuesday!
