Naturally, I seem to have been born a storyteller. I was the little girl in school who had parent-teacher conferences full of comments on either my talking too much or day-dreaming(sounds so much prettier than zoning out, right?).
So food for me has become another way to tell a story. Whether that be through the food or as a means to gather the storytellers around the table.
As you gather and practice simple skills and recipes the complexity of the language of cooking breaks down and you can speak it more fluidity. Weeknights become less stressful and gatherings more enjoyable.
Not perfect, but giving you the opportunity to slow down, gain confidence, teach others and invite them in to help and enjoy. I mean one of the things I love that you see throughout the history of food is the creativity of recipes born out of mistakes or necessity!
Saturday June 22nd I'll be at Dancing Meadows Homestead for the Herb to Table Festival hosting some Healthy Hands Cooking custom workshops where you can whip up several kinds of pesto with farm-fresh herbs, create a Tzatziki sauce or a simple creamy herb dip with fresh veggies to snack on or take home!
