The kids are back in Jason Carter’s pasture. April was too dry for corn so we planted a warm season mix. Looks like a great alternative to hay!

👉 Hey there! (Don't miss this)

Join the National Wildlife Federation and 2026 Tommy Wyche Land Conservation Award winners Bryant Harrison & Margaret Harrison for a hands-on workshop built for landowners.

Get practical guidance on conservation, forest management, land restoration, and improving productivity—plus where to find trusted support.

After lunch, head to the Harrisons’ farm for a soil health demo and tour.

Walk away with clear next steps, new connections, and a stronger plan for your land.

The event is free—but registration is required (sheep not included 😉).

Big congratulations to our friends Margaret and Bryant Harrison, winners of the 2026 Tommy Wyche Land Conservation Award!

We had the pleasure of visiting with the Harrisons several times in the early 2020's for our Cover 5 project (and even released a series of videos of our time with them--we dropped a couple in the comments).

They are great people growing great food for their community= and sharing their wealth of wisdom with all.

Some people stop and smell the roses. Others stop and smell the soil. 🌱

Luckily, John Pickler has been using cover crops and no-till on his farm for well over a decade, so this soil passed the Ray Archuleta smell test!
