This drill is easy enough and may not seem like anything special, but controlling your center of gravity becomes VERY important when we start moving and changing directions.
Strength gains are GREAT! Don’t let them go to waste and neglect speed and agility training though.

Hang cleans are a great too to use as a more advanced lifter to help with power development
Wall drives are a good exercise to begin to learn the proper mechanics for acceleration. They teach you to push through your ankle, your knee, and your hip. They also teach you proper leg drive, and how to strike behind your hips. This angle is important when running because it allows us to push ourselves forward rather than up in the air.
For these ladder runs, make sure you drive your knees up for high knee runs. We want to get off the ground quickly as well. I would suggest doing these without shoes on if possible because the spacing can get tight especially with older athletes.
