๐ฃ๐ฃCatholic education in the Diocese of Allentown โ and in the entire State of Pennsylvania โ needs your help, and it needs it now.๐ฃ๐ฃ
A bill before the Pennsylvania State Legislature โ House Bill 2632 โ would cut back and ultimately eliminate the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program. For years, EITC has opened the doors of Catholic schools to children whose families could not otherwise afford the tuition. Families in every county of Pennsylvania have used these scholarships โ averaging under $3,000 per student, funded by private donations โ to give their children an education in an environment suited to their needs. 4,248 students in our Diocese, representing 49% of all students, received EITC funding during the past school year so their families could afford to send them to Catholic school.
If HB 2632 becomes law, it would slash this critical funding, tie the program up in bureaucratic red tape, and threaten the very existence of many Catholic schools. The children who would be hurt most are those who need the help most.
Please take two minutes to make your voice heard.

As we close the doors on another incredible school year, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the many blessings God has bestowed upon our school community.
Today we celebrate the accomplishments, growth, friendships, and faith that have flourished throughout the year. From our youngest learners to our graduating students, each child has shared their unique gifts and helped make our school a place of learning, love, and faith.
This year was especially meaningful as we celebrated Principal Dickers' first year as principal. His leadership, dedication, and commitment to our mission helped make this a successful and memorable year for our students, families, faculty, and staff.
Thank you to our dedicated faculty and staff, supportive families, and parish community for your partnership and commitment to Catholic education.
As summer begins, may God watch over all of our students and families, keeping you safe, joyful, and close to Him. We look forward to seeing you again in the fall!
Have a blessed and happy summer! โ๏ธ๐๐

5th grade enjoyed their field trip Friday to Philadelphia as a culmination of their many months of learning about the history of Colonial America and the American Revolution. The main event was a guided visit at the Museum of the American Revolution, that tells the story of America's founding through immersive galleries, artifacts, and theater experiences, featuring key items like George Washington's war tent. Located near Independence Hall, it offers a comprehensive look at the Revolution's diverse people and complex events, with exhibits covering the war's causes, battles, and aftermath, and provides context for the region's many historic sites.
Another stop was to see the Liberty Bell, which is a historic symbol of American independence, located in the Liberty Bell Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, near Independence Hall. Originally commissioned in 1751, it cracked and was recast in Philadelphia, becoming famous for its inscription from Leviticus and its association with freedom movements, including abolitionism, women's suffrage, and civil rights.
They enjoyed the beautiful sunny day with a stroll through the Old City neighborhood of Philly to see other sites including Independence Hall, which is famously known as the birthplace of the United States. Within its walls, the Founding Fathers debated and signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and drafted the U.S. Constitution in 1787. They also saw Carpenters' Hall, which is famous as the primary meeting place of the First Continental Congress in 1774. It is considered the "Birthplace of Pennsylvania" and is celebrated for its pivotal role in the American Revolution.
