On their second weekend trip, the Laf in Costa Rica program ventured to Tortuguero on the carribean coast.
Over the course of their weekend the group learned about:
🐢the 4 different types of turtles who come to lay their eggs and their processes
🐢 how to identify forest types, terrains, various flora n fauna, and wildlife
🐢 history including that Tortuguero home the same coast christopher colombus landed on in 1502, naming it “Costa Rica,” which translates to rich coast (this coast is the first image featured)
What a wonderful weekend spent exploring the many canals of Tortuguero National Park!
