WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS? LUNA BUS is about empowerment, financial freedom, & regenerative design. We're sick of renting apartments designed to rely on fossil fuels. We want to practice living lightly, and save for land - not a huge house - in the future. We also want to demonstrate our experiences to empower others who may be interested in similar things. Living in a 280 square foot space that we own is also very economical. We are designing systems that cost very little to maintain over time. CAN YOU DRIVE IT? ARE YOU GOING TO TOUR AROUND? The primary vision of LUNA BUS is a studio apartment which also has the ability to move. Initial construction is taking place at Hunter Hill Farm in Easton, PA. We will try to keep you posted on any travel plans. COME VISIT/ STAY ON MY FRIEND'S PROPERTY! We're working on a system for capturing land offers to plan future trips. We'll prioritize places where we can teach a workshop or plan a work day. HOW ARE YOU GOING TO KEEP WARM/ P*E/ TAKE SHOWERS? Here are some elements we're envisioning for LUNA BUS, roughly in order of importance:

- insulation
- electrical wiring
- woodstove, for winter cooking & heating
- water tanks, gravity fed or foot pumped
- compost toilet
- cold storage: passive fridge/ draft box
- full size bed & guest sleeping
- desking areas
- lighting: LED, candlelight
Later phases:
- shower: solar, wood, or compost heated
- summer cooking: rocket stove/ outdoor kitchen/ cob oven/ solar oven
- rainwater collection
- greywater utilization
- active solar array

WHERE DID YOU GET IT, HOW MUCH WAS IT, AND WHAT ARE THE SPECS? We found LUNA BUS on Craigslist, and purchased it from a woman who was retiring from her child care business. The bus is 38 feet long and almost 8 feet wide, and weighs 17,000 pounds. It has an International T444 engine.

Organic veggie/ herb starts & flowering branches now ready! Pick up at Hunter Hill Farm in Easton, PA. Drop-off points or home delivery can also be arranged: Bucks County on Saturday, NJ/ NYC on Sunday, Bucks Co. and western Lehigh Valley/ Orefield next week.

A new release by Hill Custom Lumber, who provided the mixed species hardwood floor for LUNA BUS. We were very happy with Cory Hill's service and product - highly recommended if you're in the Lehighton, PA vicinity. The most important tenet of natural building/ sustainable design is to use local materials. Support small, artisan producers, and get high-quality products while putting money into regional economies.
