We are deeply saddened by the passing of our long-time Board Member and friend, Dr. Michael Fisher. He was highly respected as a physician and as a member of our community, and passionate about many things, including the mission of the TCPS Education Foundation. Mike devoted so much of his time, talent, and resources to our work, and he will be forever with us in spirit. Please keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers as they, and our entire community, navigate this heartbreaking loss.

The Peter Wood Memorial Awards were established through the TCPS Education Foundation by Ms. Susie Firth and her family, in memory of her son. A beloved member of our community, Peter attended Talbot County Public Schools and graduated from Easton High School in 2019.

The staff award recognizes a teacher or staff member who goes above and beyond to encourage, support, and inspire students. Through compassion, creativity, and dedication, they help students overcome challenges and achieve their personal goals.

The student award recognizes an individual who consistently demonstrates kindness, curiosity, compassion, and a love of learning. They are supportive of others, celebrate the success of their peers, and exemplify respect, cooperation, and determination.

Congratulations to this year's recipients, Mrs. Kirstin Miller and Miss Addison Dewitt, St. Michaels High class of 2026.

Join Talbot Mentors for a special screening of the powerful documentary Sentenced as we come together to raise awareness and support for our new READ Alliance program.

The documentary highlights how the inability to read can shape lives, limit opportunities, and contribute to cycles of poverty—while also showing the transformative power of literacy and support.

This screening is more than just a film—it’s a call to action. By attending, you’ll help support local efforts to improve literacy. Come be inspired, learn more about this important issue, and be part of the movement.
