Alex Teece '04 is serving up smiles every day at Lafayette Scoop—and it all started with a simple suggestion. Looking for a new challenge after working in corporate America and also founding a charter school, Teece pivoted to a sweeter dream after a conversation with his mother-in-law about the lack of ice cream shops in town. Now, the Lafayette Scoop is serving up local brands of ice cream, other dessert treats, matcha, and much more.

"Giving people ice cream is really a joyful thing. Typically, no one goes and gets ice cream if they’re mad. The majority of our customers come in with a smile on their faces, and our goal is to continue that smile and make it a little wider on the way out the door."

A big trend on social media recently has been looking back on what life was like in the 1990s. So, we went to our Log yearbooks to find out what life was like on campus in 1991 and 1996—our two Reunion years being celebrated this June!

Watch this short reel to go back in time, then head to williston.com/reunion to sign up for Reunion 2026! It's the 35th and 30th Reunions for our 90s classes, but all alumni are invited, and we're celebrating all classes that graduated in years ending with a 1 or 6.

See you in June!
