You know we plan everything we possibly can: logistics, crew, tool inventories, piece counts and labor hours for each section. We make sure we have an instructor team and a project manager who are organized, patient, highly skilled and ready. We have objectives too: Teach people to timber frame, no matter their skill level and finish the frame for the community we have promised it to. On this project, the scope of work was enormous and our time was relatively short. 14 days to layout, cut and raise. Some days it was hot, some days it rained. A few mornings the volunteers came to the work site soggy and sore but always ready for more. Strangers became a cohesive team, skills were shared and learned and in the end... a grand pavilion was raised here in Orange, Virginia. A massive frame that will endure for a community of wonderful people who invited the Timber Framers Guild to help bring their vision to life. Many heartfelt thanks to the Orange Baptist Church! To your army of dedicated helpers who fed us, encouraged us and walked this journey with us every step of the way, you all made it possible! And to each and every volunteer. We all see what you did, what you gave to make this happen, how you persevered and showed up every day, ready to pick up another tool, roll another timber..see it through. And now, another Guild Build has come and gone, but the friends and memories we made and this sturdy, beautiful frame...will live on! Congratulations and gratitude to every individual who had a hand in making this happen here in Orange, Virginia. Epic effort and a job well done. 💪🧡
