Community Building season 2026 kicked off in grand style just a few days ago! We're here in Symco, Wisconsin building a 12 sided pavilion to house a vintage carousel that belongs to the Symco Thresheree . It has been a flurry of activity and we've had an amazing welcome from the local community. Timber Framers from all over North America are volunteering their time here to layout, cut and raise a frame that will endure for generations to come (just as the Thresheree has and will continue to). We're surrounded by lush green farm lands, warm friendly folks and a lot of timber! Here we go! Our chisels and minds are sharp and we are making great strides towards our goal of raising this structure by the weekend. We're all leaning in and learning a ton too. Many thanks to everyone who made this possible here in Symco. We're delighted! We're amazed! And we're so happy to be here. More to come as we progress! Stay tuned.

Western Rendezvous! This was our second year at Yale Creek Ranch and it's been absolutely perfect weather for timber framing. The sawdust has been flying and we'll make more today as we wrap up work on this small frame for a local community organization. 60 people from all over the West Coast and from as far East as Montana have been out here sharing meals, camping out, building community and making memories. As ever, we have a lot of very experienced folks showing new folks the ropes and it's always a good time when you see someone learning a new skill or how to use a new tool. Sharing the knowledge of timber framing is what the Timber Framers Guild is all about and we packed it in this weekend! Joinery talks with Matt from Ashland Post and Beam. Sharpening and hewing with Yann plus tons of layout and cutting under the supervision of some skilled Guild Members. Thank you to and for organizing and TFG Board President Autumn Peterson of for bringing such great energy and paving the way for all the passion of the next batch of future timber framers. This has been a weekend to remember!

The Timber Framers Guild travels to Germany! The first German tour is underway and travelers are soaking in the sights and ambiance of Regensburg. Tour leader and TFG board member Chris Koehn writes this: "We had a wonderful guided tour of the old city, most of which is 1,000 years old. Then came the tour of the cathedral and the stone mason’s workshop, given by the master stonemason himself! Going places few people are allowed to go, and some not for the faint of heart..!"
TFG tours are behind the scenes experiences curated especially for timber framers, designers, architects and hobbyists alike. For more information on upcoming tours visit tfguild.org
