The 13th edition of NESNIM (North Eastern Students’ National Integration Movement) was held at Holy Cross School in Agartala, from 30th September to 3rd October 2022. NESNIM is an initiative of the Holy Cross Educational Foundation (HCEF).

Approximately 500 students and 100 animators from 25 schools representing over 15 diverse communities over the region gathered under the theme “Teen Health: Our Wealth” to address the positive aspects of student life and eliminate harmful energies and addictions.

The sessions, animated by FAYTH Clinic in Mumbai, focused on harnessing the students’ vibrant energy and potential to enable them to face their future more confidently. Afternoons featured outdoor competitions, stage presentations, and artwork.

The genesis of this gathering began in 2001 when the North East region, particularly in Tripura, faced a volatile political situation, which resulted in violence, destruction of property, and the deaths of many people, including one Holy Cross Priest. To combat civil hostilities, the Holy Cross Priests decided to fight back with a student-based peace initiative promoting harmonious living and respect for all people and cultures.

Consistent with our Holy Cross charism, the vision at the time was that through the education of “heart and mind,” students were best suited to cultivate this diversity for a greater and lasting impact on society. This vision has continued over the years and remains just as relevant now as it was then.

A very Happy New Year to our RERDI family! The past two years have undoubtedly been a time of uncertainty; many of us have endured losses on all levels. Despite the pandemic and its unpredictability, we still forged on in our journey, akin to the Three Wise Men!
It is truly humbling to look among all of you and be astonished at the resources that God is providing for the education of marginalized children, a feat that would not be possible without your immense generosity. We, alongside the schools and students we support, have worked tirelessly to ensure that your contributions bore fruit, even at the height of a pandemic.

We want to thank you for enabling RERDI to:
· Help build state-of-the-art biology, chemistry and physics labs in Good Shepherd School, Jongshaw, Meghalaya.
· Help 100% of students achieve success at the 2021 Madhyamyamik exams at Holy Cross School, Bagbasa, Tripura.
· Help children from St. Joseph’s School, Khawzawl, Mizoram, qualify for participation in Children’s Science Congress.
· Help a student complete his final exam in medical school (MBBS in India).
