Our students didn’t just talk about helping others, they went out and did it. 💙

Recently, DSA students volunteered at a local food pantry, rolling up their sleeves to stock shelves, organize food, and support families in our community. They worked side by side, took pride in their effort, and showed real care for the people they were helping.

🚀 Our Drone Team started the new year by making a BIG statement in Dallas. 🚀

Last weekend at the South Region Aerial Drone Competition (Time Warp 2026), our Aero-Raptors represented Dove Science Academy with focus, teamwork, and confidence! The results were incredible:

• 1st and 2nd place among middle school teams in the South Region
• One team ranked #15 in the WORLD among all middle and high school teams
• Two teams qualified for the National Championship in El Paso, Texas

During the trip, our students also had the opportunity to visit The University of Texas at Dallas, which was a powerful and motivating experience. This reflects our commitment at DSA to STEM excellence and College and Career readiness, and it shows what happens when students are given real opportunities to grow.

A special thank you to Mr. Kerim, our Drone Club teacher, for his dedication, and to Mr. Arty for supporting our students throughout the trip.

✨ We wrapped up the semester today with so much joy in our building. ✨

Beautifully decorated classroom doors in hallways glowing with lights and holiday cheer, our campus felt full of excitement and pride. Students couldn’t stop smiling as they walked through the building, and Santa’s visit made the day even more special for our kids. 🎅🎄

This semester was filled with growth, learning, and moments that brought our community closer together. Seeing our students enjoy the last day, laugh with their friends, and take in the magic around them was the perfect way to head into Winter Break.

Thank you to our teachers and staff for creating such a welcoming and joyful environment, and thank you to our families for your constant support. This is what makes DSA feel like home!

Wishing all of our families a warm, restful, and happy Winter Break. We can’t wait to welcome our students back in the new year. ❤️💙

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Emerald Boese, Dove Class of 2022 and a former staff member at Dove Science Academy.

Emerald was part of the Dove family in more ways than one. She was a graduate of our school and later returned to serve our students and community for one year as an employee. She was kind, caring, and taken from us far too soon. Her loss is deeply felt across our school community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Emerald’s mother, Melissa Boese, as she faces an unimaginable loss. As a community, we want to come together to support one of our own during this incredibly difficult time.

🔬✨ Our Science Fair yesterday was an INCREDIBLE day for our entire school community! ✨🔬

More than 270 projects filled our building, created by even more students working with their partners. Everywhere you looked, there was creativity, curiosity, and hard work on display. It was powerful to see our students proudly explain their ideas and show what they’ve learned through weeks of effort.

We were also blown away by the support from our community. Over 40 volunteer judges came out on a Saturday to meet our students and review their projects! Teachers, high school students, professors, veterans, and community members all stepped up to make the experience meaningful for our young scientists.

When judging ended, hundreds of families walked the hallways to view the projects and celebrate their children’s work. The building was full of excitement and pride, and our awards ceremony was the perfect way to end the day.

A huge thank-you to everyone who made this event possible. To our students for their dedication, to our families for their support, to our volunteers for giving their time, and especially to our science teachers Ms. Lofton, Ms. Rashad, Ms. Uysal, and Mr. Murat for leading with passion and guiding our students through the entire process.

STEM is at the heart of our mission, and events like this bring our whole community together to celebrate learning, effort, and discovery.

🎄❤️ Our Angel Tree is up in the lobby, and it’s one of the traditions that brings the most warmth to our school each year.

Each tag on the tree represents a student in our DSA community. The tags are anonymous and include simple information like clothing sizes, a need such as a coat or shoes, and a small want like a toy. Families and staff choose an angel, shop for that student, and help make their holiday season a little brighter.

The generosity we see each year reminds us that our school is more than a building. It’s a family that shows up for one another.

If you would like to take part, please stop by the lobby and choose an angel. Every tag taken makes a real difference for a child in our community.

🦃 This week we got to share a Thanksgiving meal with our incredible staff.

The atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and full of genuine joy as everyone gathered to eat, laugh, and enjoy each other’s company. It felt good to slow down together and celebrate the people who pour so much into our students every day.

A very special thank you to our cafeteria team for preparing such a delicious meal. They volunteered their time and talent to make this possible, and we are truly grateful for them.

It was a simple gathering, but the feeling in the room said everything about the heart of our DSA family. ❤️💙

📚✨ Yesterday our students had the chance to learn directly from a meaningful piece of Native American history. ✨📚

Mrs. Rhonda Ozaydin visited our campus to read a powerful story written by a Native American author who shared how he used his Navajo language to help America achieve victory. Our students were fully engaged, asking thoughtful questions and connecting with a story that brought culture, courage, and history to life.

She also brought fresh fry bread, which quickly became a favorite. Even more important was her explanation of fry bread’s deep history and how it represents the resilience and survival of Native American people.

We are so grateful to Mrs. Rhonda for sharing her time, knowledge, and family heritage with our students. Experiences like this help our children grow as compassionate, curious learners who appreciate the cultures and stories that shape our community. ❤️💙

🦃✨ What an unforgettable Family Thanksgiving Dinner at DSA last night. ✨🦃

Our turnout was so incredible that we filled every seat in the cafeteria and had families enjoying their meal outside under the cool evening sky. Kids played on the playground, families gathered around picnic tables, and the whole campus felt full of warmth, conversation, and community.

Inside, the tables were covered with bright, colorful papers decorated with artwork created by our own students. Seeing families sit together over drawings made by their children and classmates added an extra touch of heart to the evening.

A very special thank you to our PTO President, Mrs. Rhonda Ozaydin, who prepared a beautiful booth and shared a fascinating presentation about her grandmother’s Irish and Kiowa (Native American) heritage. It was a meaningful reminder of the many cultures, stories, and traditions that shape our community.

Thank you to every family who joined us. Your presence, your conversations, and your joy made the evening one we will cherish. We are grateful for our DSA Family every single day. ❤️💙

✨ Today was a special one in our STEM classes. ✨

Our 7th and 8th graders jumped into a Toy Workshop where they designed and built their own moving toys. Groups created everything from a dog that bobbed its head and wagged its tail to a tiny giraffe that “ran” across the table. Watching their ideas come to life through gears, levers, and creativity was incredible to see.

What made the day even more meaningful came at the end. After all their hard work, our students decided to donate their toys to our kindergarten classes. The smiles on both sides were heartwarming!

This project wasn’t just about engineering or mechanical motion. It was about teamwork, problem-solving, and sharing something they were proud of with younger students. Thank you to all students and our STEM teacher Ms. Uysal who made this project a success! 💙
