Crafting raw gem silica into jewelry with an embedded gem opal.
Is an easy and straight forward project, it just takes patience and a good plan.
This whole event had an unusual beginning at a garage sale. SeaJay and I were out and checking out some garage sales. We came to this one where an older fellow was selling some of his Dads & Grandads rocks, agates and some gems.
Well knowing SeaJay and I we were in a proverbial candy store for kids. I was in the garage looking at some really nice pieces which were going into
my bucket. She was outside looking over the many tables.
Well I was chatting and paying for my haul (Ye Haw), then SeaJay came in and paid for hers. With particular mention of an old fashioned Almond Roca can kind of beat up and a sign on it saying FREE. Well one quick look inside the can by SeaJays keen eye for agates and some good old rockhounding tips, tricks and secrets and she had grabbed it
When we got home and checked out the contents of this beat up old can and really took a look and wow! What a score. There was labradorite, crystal points, chevron amethyst etc... and on and on in this can. We were stunned and feeling very blessed and it was FREE! but the real score was the rock featured in this video, it's Gem Silica it's quartz stained with copper, with chromium inclusions.
So we are looking for feedback and comments on which one you think would be the best and hopefully why you think it should be mounted into this Gem Silica.
