Most dads know they want more time with their son. The problem isn’t wanting it. It’s that life fills every gap before you get there.

So don’t wait for a gap.
Carve one out.

The Father/Son Retreat is two days at Camp Timber-lee, November 13-15.

No agenda beyond having a great time and going a little deeper with your son. We handle the meals and the activities. You bring your son.

We’re sorry to announce that we need to cancel the Pumpkin Walk this year. We’re grateful for everyone who has supported this event over the years and hope to evaluate the possibility of bringing it back in fall 2027.

Drift is the default. Intention is a decision.

Nobody plans to be a distracted dad. It happens one busy week at a time, and before long your son is being shaped by everything except you.

Being in the house isn’t the same as forming your son. It looks like marking moments, naming who he’s becoming, and telling him you’re proud of him before he’s earned a thing.

You can’t do that at 60 miles an hour. It takes a threshold, something that says this weekend matters.

That’s the Father/Son Retreat at Camp Timber-lee, November 13-15.

Zip lines. Horses. Campfires. Chapel. Two days with your son and no screens, and no one asking you to have it all figured out. You just have to show up.

Some things a boy only hears from his dad, and they land better when you’re doing something side by side.

Every summer, something happens in the cabins at Camp Timber-lee that’s hard to explain.

A college student takes on a group of campers for a week. By Friday, those campers have a role model.

Maybe yours taught you to paddle a canoe. 🛶
Maybe they sat with you when you were homesick. 🤒 Maybe they’re the reason you came back the next summer, and the one after that. 🏕️

We’re collecting stories about cabin leaders who made a difference. Campers, alumni, and parents are all welcome to share.

This morning, Brian Ogne passed into the arms of Jesus.

What a God-honoring life he lived, and what an incredible legacy he leaves behind.

Brian served at Camp Timber-lee for decades, pouring his life into this place and into the thousands of campers and staff who walked through our gates.

His impact is woven into the very fabric of Timber-lee. He helped shape a camp where young people could encounter Christ, experience God's creation, build lifelong friendships, and discover who they were created to be. Countless campers and staff members were changed because Brian chose to faithfully invest in this ministry.

And while we deeply grieve his passing, we rejoice in the hope we have in Jesus. We were able to spend his final earthly moments with him, and we are overjoyed knowing that his mind and body are now fully healed. He is home, rejoicing and laughing with his Savior.

Brian's time at Timber-lee may have come to an end, but his legacy will live on here forever—in the stories, the traditions, the people, and the countless lives he touched.

We are incredibly grateful for the life he lived, the faith he modeled, and the years he gave to Camp Timber-lee.

“Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.”

Matthew 25:23

This summer at the end of every week, we asked campers one question:

How did you encounter Jesus this week?

(No script. No coaching. Just a mic and a lake in the background).

“Definitely by going out into the world.” “Praying — because praying gets you through it.” “He created literally everything.”

One camper tied her whole week to the story of Jacob: “He would change your name... that’s what He did for Jacob, changed his name to Israel.”

Another said it was the sermons “like each one” felt like it was written just for her.

Ask your camper the same question tonight.
You might be surprised what they say. 🤍⛺
