One of my favorite work opportunities over the past three years has been plugging my positive psychology-based content into the Carrier University Sales Engineer Training program.

Each year I travel to Charlotte to work with students in this 13-week program where they live and learn together. I kick things off on the last day of their first week, then return throughout the program, including the joy of facilitating their final day together.

Last week I got to meet the 2026 SET class. They are eager, engaged, and already showing up for one another. The research is clear that we thrive in community, and this program brings it to life every time.

Cheers to the class of 2026. I’m honored to be part of your journey. See you soon for round two!

Some exciting news I’ve been looking forward to sharing: last month I joined the Fractional C-Suite at INSPYRE Innovation Hub as their Chief Well-being Officer in Residence.

When I left my corporate career almost a decade ago to pursue this work, a role like this didn’t really exist. Organizations treated well-being as a perk, a lunch-and-learn, a one-off initiative. What I’ve always believed, and what INSPYRE clearly understands, is that well-being belongs in the C-Suite conversation. It’s a strategy, not a side program.

In this role, I’ll work alongside growth-stage leadership teams to embed well-being into how their businesses actually run: leadership practices, employee experience, and culture. My approach has always been about addressing root causes, not symptoms, and I’m honored to bring that lens to the incredible community of founders and leaders in Central New York.

Grateful to the INSPYRE Innovation Hub by CenterState and CenterState CEO teams for building something this forward-thinking, and for including well-being among the executive functions that drive real growth.

Thanks to Leadership Greater Syracuse for having me deliver the closing talk for your Health Day at one of our CNY gems, Vanderkamp. What a great group of local leaders, and fellow speakers, doing important work!

I spoke on “Well-being as a Leadership Strategy” and one thing I hope attendees took away:

Employee wellness programs are well-intentioned and important. And employee wellness, employee well-being, and workplace well-being are not the same thing. Understanding the difference can change how you lead.

Too often we treat the symptoms without addressing the system. We create programs to manage stress without challenging what’s creating it in the first place. That’s where the real opportunity lives.

When leaders model recovery, normalize boundaries, and create the conditions for people to truly thrive, everything else follows.

You have more influence over your team’s well-being than any app or initiative ever will.

Thanks for letting me be a part of your day; I live for this stuff! 🧭

Spaghetti and Marshmallows and Post-its. Oh my.

Today I got to spend time at one of my favorite stops, with faculty, staff and students soaking up one of the last beautiful spring days before summer break hits.

We talked about why self-confidence is honestly a little overrated and why self-efficacy, believing you can take the specific action in front of you, is what actually closes the gap between where you are and where you want to be.

But first, we built towers. Because play is one of the most powerful ways to learn. It’s also way more fun than the alternative.

Thanks Steph Kowell, and the Hamilton community for always bringing the good energy! ☀️🏗️
