We are saddened to announce the passing of Jill Wenrich who took over as the LDHS Band Director when Tom Turnbull retired. Jill was our band director up to the spring of 2005. Her service will be this Monday, 12/08 at Kreamer Funeral Home 618 E Main St, Annville. Viewing is 9-11 and service at 11 with graveside service to follow.

CHRISTMAS TUNES: A group of High School Band students helped kick off the season by bringing Christmas spirit to Small Business Saturday in downtown Harrisburg! Their music lit up the street and added an extra touch of festive fun for shoppers and families. ✨

A big weekend for Lower Dauphin in PA, too. Congratulations to Micah F. and Savannah O. on their participation in the PMEA All-State concert band at the Kalahari Resort.

The band had a challenging program and they played it beautifully.

The Blue Band High School Summer Clinic is an opportunity for current high school marching band instrumentalists and band front members to learn the marching and music traditions of the Penn State Marching Blue Band in a student-centered, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment and get a taste of what is like to be a student at Penn State! Clinic participants will have the opportunity to work directly with the Penn State Blue Band Directors, Staff, and Students to improve their musicianship and marching fundamentals in both traditional Big Ten “Blue Band” High Step and corps style.

We got the Dauphin County Band Festival in before the bad weather arrived today! All of these kids had to audition for the bands and they represented LD so well in the DCMEA Intermediate, Middle School, and High School Bands. Congrats to all of them!
