🎉Update on our Preschool Opening🎉
As most of you know, my plan for our first day of preschool was intended to be later this month. When I submitted my paperwork to the state, I was approved within 24 hours of submission (which typically takes 30-45 days). So, naturally it being mid-July at that point, there was no doubt that 8/31 would be an attainable goal for opening day.
What they don’t tell you going into this process is just how difficult it is to get your opening inspection SCHEDULED. Not the buildout process. Not the power outages. Not the lack of help. The amount of additional paperwork that must be submitted just to get an inspection date is outrageous. Our inspector fell behind (aside from taking days to respond back to emails) & she was finally able to reach out to schedule our inspection. Unfortunately, this puts our opening day back a few days.
I think people fail to realize all that is involved in this process. No; I’m not planning a Labor Day weekend on the lake & pushing my opening back because I need a vacation. I have no choice. I begged for someone else or an earlier date and the answers to both were “no”. If you think anyone is losing here more than me, you’re dead wrong. It always seems to me that people who do the least complain the most. If I had it my way, everything in life would go just the way I plan it. Wouldn’t that be a wonderful thing…
As a result, we are losing a TON of money since we can’t open preschool until September. Hopefully, our customers show up for us & book those Open Play Sessions, special events & parties in record numbers. We could really use the support.
