Alchemy Martial Arts and Fitness

Hey everyone, I'm super excited to announce that we are partnering with an old friend of mine and pro kickboxer Andre Shuler to bring some amazing new kickboxing and self defense classes. If you have ever thought about training before to get in shape or you wanted to learn the skills you need to be able to handle yourself in a dangerous situation then do I got the man for you.

If you have a student enrolled in Alchemy MMA and want to give this a try yourself for all the mom's and dad's out there we're offering special discounts off your first month to kick this program literally...and metaphorically into gear! PM us for more details.

Starting on Monday 3/9 we will be adding in the following classes:

Monday : 7 PM Beginner Kickboxing/Self Defense

Monday : 8 PM Intermediate Kickboxing/Self Defense

Tuesday: 7:30 PM Beginner Kickboxing/Self Defense

Thursday: 6:30 PM Beginner Kickboxing/Self Defense

Thursday: 7:30 PM Intermediate Kickboxing/Self Defense

I'm excited to welcome Andre into the gym and hope this program continues to grow and bring more opportunities for all our students! Thanks guys and thanks for the support as always!

Hey guys, so many of you have been supportive of Sensei Jayden and his family since the tragic passing of his father. Seeing the community come together to help one of our own has truly been an inspiration to me and words cannot express my gratitude.

With that inspiration I decided to host a fundraising event to further help them in this time of need.

I've partnered with John Butera/Aragona's Comedy and our own local "The Bench" to bring "The Roast of Sensei Nick" comedy show fundraiser.

We have a bunch of the kids performing in this, as well as the sensei's, everyone is lining up to let me have it haha.

This means a lot to us at the school and I'd love if you guys could save the date on February 28th from 3-6 PM at The Bench.

Tickets included the show, a full meal and unlimited soft drinks. All proceeds will be going to the Brun family to help them as best we can through this tough time. I hope you guys can come down and have some fun with us.

Sensei Jayden has been a student and instructor of ours at Alchemy Martial Arts for years now and has been an incredible part of our family and if you know anything about us, just like everyone in Three Village, we always look out for our own.

We mourn the loss of Jayden's father and the hole he left behind in their hearts, one that nothing could hope to fill, but we hope we can ease the hole he left in their world by banding together to contribute anyway we can so they can get through this time as easily as possible.

They say age is just a number, as I get older and older it gets a little harder and harder to stand by that statement. It gets a little tougher each year to remember what it's like to be in the shoes of someone so young and remember how they think, how they act, what things are important to them and what shapes their world you know?

I watch my students day in and day out as they sweat and they cry and they struggle and yea sometimes they even bleed. Every day as I open those doors I open them full of hope and aspiration, but when I close them I can't help but worry. I worry if they're going to be ok; that the things they struggle with they'll be able to overcome. What they were crying about yesterday won't inhibit them tomorrow and what was bleeding last week won't leave a scar today. I'm not gonna lie it eaten at me over the years.

So thank you Harry for giving me hope again in all of my young students. To be just 15 years old and get his black belt is such an extraordinary accomplishment I cannot put it into words, so unless you've been a part of some kind of martial art yourself it's not something you can truly empathize with you'll just have to take my word and understand that even as an adult there are millions around the world who shoot for it and fail, yet Harry started his journey at 3 and never blinked, never quit and made it all the way through as my 5th black belt.

In that time, Harry saw what I saw. Hundreds of kids in those 12 years come and go as he kept on trucking through as a tear got one and a scar got another, Harry had both in spades and still does and that's the point. You see Harry reminded me of something at his test, he said he wanted his black belt so he could be tough and I'm not gonna lie I laughed a little out of pure joy. Such a youthful, optimistic statement. Just to be genuinely and just "generally" tough. However if we were going to take this test to the next level I had to pop that bubble a little so I asked Harry what does tough mean? I said "like big, strong muscles because I'm not gonna lie to you man, that will only get you so far."
