Something exciting is taking shape at Oak Ridge, and we couldn't resist sharing a little sneak peek! 👀

While we hope our school community is enjoying a beautiful summer full of relaxation and some days at the beach, Mrs. Smith is bringing the ocean to Oak Ridge!

Some wonderful things from Oak Ridge were showcased at last night’s Sandwich School Committee meeting!

A group of talented fourth graders from ColNes’s class presented their persuasive writing project, advocating for the creation of a Relaxation Station during recess. They demonstrated how student voice can help make our school community even stronger.

We also had the privilege of celebrating Mrs. Black, who was honored with the School Committee’s Golden Apple Award for Oak Ridge. Nominated by families, Mrs. Black was recognized for her unwavering commitment to high standards, dedication to student growth, and the care and love she shows her students each and every day.

Congratulations to Mrs. Black, and thank you to our fourth graders for representing Oak Ridge with such poise and passion. We are so proud of you all!

This morning, we gathered for a beautiful Grade 6 Breakfast to celebrate our graduates and the incredible journey they have taken at Oak Ridge.

A heartfelt thank you to the coordinators who did a fabulous job creating such a special event. The food was amazing, the decorations were wonderful, and the student slideshow brought smiles, laughter, and a few tears as we reflected on years of memories together.

Our sixth graders have grown into thoughtful, capable, and caring young people, and we could not be prouder of all they have accomplished. While we are excited to see them begin their next chapter, Oak Ridge will certainly miss them. They will always be a part of our Oak Ridge family.

Congratulations, Grade 6! We know you will do great things. 💙💛

What an amazing event last night! Oak Ridge was so fortunate to host Oak Ridge and Forestdale families to celebrate a wonderful school year! The night was filled with laughter, smiles, and fun. Despite the rain, the energy was incredible, and it was wonderful to see so many families enjoying time together.

From inflatables and face painting (by our wonderful Grade 6 Student Council) to dancing, food, and great company, there was something for everyone. Events like this remind us how special our school community truly is.

A huge thank you to the Sandwich Elementary PTA for helping make this event possible. We are already hoping this becomes an annual tradition!

Field Day kicked off with great energy at Oak Ridge! The relay races are complete, and students are now enjoying all of our exciting activity stations. ☀️🏃‍♂️🎉

This week we celebrated all the growth our students have made this year with grade level assemblies recognizing students for their hard work, perseverance, and positive impact on our school community.

Students were honored for growth in academics, achievement and effort in specials classes, and for consistently demonstrating the Oak Ridge 7Cs through their character, community spirit, collaboration, curiosity, creativity, communication, and critical thinking.

We are so proud of the many ways our students contribute to making Oak Ridge such a special place to learn and grow. Congratulations to our students for a wonderful year of learning, leadership, and growth!

Step back in time! Today, our Grade 6 students welcomed families, staff, and peers to their visit their Ancient Egypt Showcase, demonstrating their learning through creative, hands-on projects and engaging presentations.

From pyramids and pharaohs to artifacts, maps, and interactive displays, students brought the ancient world to life. The showcase was a wonderful example of deeper learning, creativity, and student voice in action.

We are so proud of our sixth graders for their hard work, enthusiasm, and impressive demonstration of learning. Thank you to our teachers and families for supporting this memorable event!

Today we were thrilled to welcome our future Oak Ridge students for Step Up Day! It was an honor to host our second graders and give them a glimpse of all the exciting learning, opportunities, and experiences that await them next year.

Our sixth-grade Student Council members did a fantastic job leading tours throughout the building, helping our visitors explore their future school. Along the way, students enjoyed a special performance from our Guitar Ensemble and received a book created especially for them to help celebrate and feel prepared for this important milestone.

A special thank you to the Sandwich Elementary PTA for providing the books, Dr. Stevens and Mrs. Bronner for writing the story, Mrs. Smith for the beautiful illustrations, and Mr. Guerra for editing. We can't wait to welcome the Class of 2036 to the Oak Ridge family this fall!

From Flag Day to Poetry Out Loud, it was a big day for Oak Ridge! 🇺🇸📖

We are so proud to celebrate our first-ever Poetry Out Loud competition, featuring talented Grade 5 students who shared poetry with confidence, expression, and heart.

A huge congratulations to all of our student performers- you made this inaugural event a tremendous success. We have no doubt this is the first of many Poetry Out Loud competitions at Oak Ridge! 👏✨
