🎶🌟 Celebrating Mrs. Coates! 🌟🎶

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Mrs. Rhonda Collins Coates, our wonderful music teacher at Annette Officer Elementary School!

Mrs. Coates has been a dedicated member of the St. Louis Symphony Chorus for more than 20 years — an incredible accomplishment in itself! ❤️🎼

This fall, she will also participate in Extra Credit Choral, a special opportunity that brings local music educators together to perform alongside the St. Louis Symphony Chorus and the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra at Powell Hall on Sunday, November 1, 2026.

Through this unique experience, Mrs. Coates will rehearse and perform under the direction of conductors Erin Freeman and Kevin McBeth, joining fellow educators and professional musicians for what promises to be an unforgettable performance.

What a wonderful opportunity to celebrate an educator who not only teaches music, but continues to live it! Mrs. Coates models for our students the importance of perseverance, creativity, lifelong learning, and the joy of making music together. 🎶❤️

We invite our students, families, teachers, staff, and entire Officer Elementary community to join us at Powell Hall as we cheer on Mrs. Coates!

🎟️ The concert is FREE and open to the public, with complimentary tickets available.

Congratulations, Mrs. Coates! We are so proud to have you representing Officer Elementary and sharing your extraordinary gifts both inside and outside of the classroom! 🎵🐯

📚✨ Mystery Guest Reader Wednesday!

Every third Wednesday, each classroom welcomes a special guest reader as we continue building a culture of joy, imagination, and excitement around reading.

Our students were engaged, asking questions, sharing their thoughts, and definitely wanting more!

❤️📚❤️📚❤️📚❤️📚❤️📚❤️📚❤️📚

Want to be one of our October 21st Mystery Guest Readers? Send us a message—we’d love to have you!

Part 2: FIRST GRADE! 🐯😂 Our students are back with more career predictions for their teachers and staff — and their answers did not disappoint!

If your teacher wasn’t a teacher, what job do YOU think they’d have? 👀👇

Part 1: KINDERGARTEN EDITION! 🐯😂

We asked our students a simple question: “If your teacher wasn’t your teacher, what other job would they have?” And their answers were way too good not to share! 😂 From doctors and police officers to Walmart employees and more — our kindergarteners definitely had some thoughts!

As funny and adorable as their responses are, this little activity also reminded us of something important: children can only dream about careers they’ve had an opportunity to see, hear about, or experience. That is one of the reasons career exposure matters so much at the elementary level.

Last year, Officer Elementary hosted a College & Career Fair featuring five universities and 20 businesses and organizations, giving our Tigers an opportunity to meet professionals, ask questions, and discover possibilities beyond what they may encounter every day.

So enjoy Part 1 of 6 of our “If Your Teacher Wasn’t Your Teacher…” series! We’ll be featuring each grade level plus our amazing support staff. 🧡🖤

Now tell us — what did YOU want to be when you were in kindergarten? 👀👇

Good choices add up at Officer Elementary! 🐯🧡

Ms. Daniels, our PE teacher and one of our PBIS Co-Chairs, is giving us a peek inside one of our PBIS R.O.A.R. Store cabinets! Students earn ClassDojo points in lots of ways — positive behavior, attendance, completing schoolwork and special projects, and simply being caught doing good.

And the rewards don’t stop there! Each week, students who earn enough ClassDojo points can participate in Fun Friday — engaging, interactive activities that celebrate the positive choices they’ve made throughout the week. 🎉

Then, on the last Friday of each month, the R.O.A.R. Store opens! Students can cash in their points for prizes or save them up for something bigger.

We’re proud of our Tigers who show up, work hard, make good choices, and keep putting their best foot forward! 🐯✨

👀🤏🏾 Clocked it! Ms. Sayles’ class was caught in the hallway doing exactly what Tigers are supposed to do—lined up, respectful, and making room for others to pass. 🐯🧡

Sometimes doing the right thing deserves a little spotlight. We see you, Tigers! ✨
