One of my favorite Kinks songs, Sunny Afternoon. Started out playing it on my Les Paul but soon switched to my National dobro which felt so much more appropriate & organic. Hope you enjoy.

Here’s an original finger style song i wrote, with a running bass line over the melody. Took me a while to get it to flow the way I wanted but is now really fun to play. I call it “Stomp”…Hope u like it. ❤️🎼

Here's a little tutorial i did celebrating Mike Nesmith's ''Tapioca Tundra'' being used on a recent episode of ''Better Call Saul'' during its final season. I chose to go more with his original demo version, but threw in the intro from The Monkees version for the interesting picking going on there. A really quirky, fun song to play...hope u enjoy!

One of my favorite Monkees songs. Also, I wanted a video of my daughter, Rachel and i playing together while she's still pregnant with TWIN GIRLS! Great example of throwing in parts of the bass guitar bits into the chord structure. Her amazing vocal harmonies drive the whole thing...hope u enjoy.

Wanted an excuse to use my old '65 Fender electric 12 string on something and chose this ultra DEEP cut from The Monkees. I was the target audience for this show as a kid and they were the main reason i ever picked up a guitar in the first place. Especially Mike Nesmith's work. One of the maybe 2 jazz influenced songs by the group. Love how the main intro/verse hook includes a Dmaj7 chord with an A root on top to an Em7 with a B root. Gives SUCH a lush overtone to a relatively simple exchange. Check it out...Don't Call on Me, hope u enjoy!

This song has been calling out to me recently, to the point where i had to reacquaint myself with it. Everytime i hear it, it transports me back to Fall, 1974 when i was playing the grooves of their Mother Lode LP. I can smell the Autumn leaves...Intricate chord progressions and hard as hell to sing, but worth the effort and was very cathartic for me in the end. Hope it is for some of you, too. Especially relevant in these unusually turbulent times we all live in...we've ALL seen brighter days. Hopefully we will again, someday. Kenny Loggins at his song writing best!

Broke out my G&L Custom shop Telecaster last weekend & thought this was a good opportunity to give the Bigsby tremelo a little work out...Leaning a bit more towards Brian Setzer, rather than Santo & Johhny's version here. One of those songs where you can feel your blood pressure drop while playing! Love teaching this one and have long lost track on how many times i've shown it to people...hope you enjoy.

Been messing around with this little finger pick instrumental for about 6 months now...always enjoy creating short, articulated moves and then seeing how seemlessly i can string them together, while covering a lot of territory on the neck...this one finally came together recently. I teach these pieces pretty often and they're always sure fire chop builders...if you practice!

Nobody could do heartache better than Hank...Such a talented, tragic figure...cranked out a multitude of classic songs, yet never even made it to 30 yrs old. One of those songs that still calls out to me and MAKES me play it from time to time. Threw in a nice little finger pick solo in the middle that i like to teach.
