Let them try. 💙

It can be so tempting to jump in when we know we could do something faster.

Putting on shoes.
Opening a snack.
Cleaning up.
Carrying their own things.
Figuring out how something works.

But those little everyday moments are where kids build independence, confidence and problem-solving skills.

It might take longer.
It might not be perfect.
They might even get a little frustrated.

That's okay.

Sometimes the best help we can give is a little extra time to try it themselves. ✨

Simple materials can lead to BIG ideas. 💡

To an adult, they might just be building blocks.

To a child? They could become a tower, a robot, a microphone, a magic wand—or something we haven't even thought of yet!

When we give children materials that can be used in more than one way, we're giving them opportunities to create, experiment, problem-solve and think flexibly.

Sometimes the best thing we can do is provide the materials…and let their imagination take it from there. 💙

Back-to-school means a BIG change in routine. 🎒

Later summer nights become earlier bedtimes. Slow mornings become get-dressed-brush-teeth-find-your-shoes mornings. And days that once felt pretty flexible suddenly have a lot more structure.

For young children, knowing what to expect can make these transitions feel much more manageable.

A few ways to start preparing now:

🎒 Talk about what’s changing. “Next week, we’ll start waking up earlier because school is getting closer.”

☀️ Practice the morning routine. Start shifting wake-up, breakfast and getting-dressed times before the first day.

📸 Make it visual. A simple picture schedule can show: Wake up → Get dressed → Breakfast → Brush teeth → Backpack → School.

🗓️ Use a countdown. Mark the first day of school on the calendar and count down together.

💙 Expect some bumps. Even with preparation, changes in routine can bring bigger feelings, more resistance or extra tiredness.

We can't make every transition easy—but we can make it more predictable.

And for little brains, knowing what comes next can make a BIG difference.
