** From Principal Black- New Traffic Pattern starting Monday April 25th **
Dear Townies,
We will have a new traffic pattern in the morning for drop off. The road we have been using by PCD will be closed as of Monday, April 25th, so we will only have one way in campus and one way out of campus. Below is a video along with a map to show the new pattern. Please look for Officer Zeke to guide you in to campus by the new Clocktower and then follow the pattern through campus. You will exit from the North side by the Admin Building (Former CTC Building). Our School Resource Officers along with our traffic and admin team will help you through this process. Please arrive early and expect delays next week. We will evaluate each day and make any necessary adjustments and communicate them as needed. Our number one priority is student safety and we will do our best to get you out quickly. Thanks, Mr. Black

** Early Dismissal Thurs 9/7 **
Message from EPSD
We have been carefully monitoring the temperature in our classrooms for the last two days. The safety and well being of students and staff are at the forefront of all decisions we make. Late this afternoon RIDE offered districts options to deal with the excessive heat. These decisions are never easy and there are many factors to consider when making them.
After careful consideration, the district will close schools early tomorrow, Thursday September 7, 2023.
Students will have access to breakfast and lunch and will receive three hours of instruction.
High School: 10:30AM dismissal
Middle School: 11:15AM dismissal
Elementary: 12:00 PM dismissal
No afternoon ELC classes
We are coordinating bussing schedules to support the change in time. Please be patient as bussing times will need to accommodate the early dismissal.
We will continue to monitor temperatures for Friday and will communicate if any additional changes to the schedule.

Come by today support these Townies!!!!
Please note that school times will be 7:25am - 1:45pm Monday - Friday this year (no more early dismissal on Weds).
Thank you!

If Taylor Swift can brave the elements and put on incredible outdoor concerts, there's no doubt that East Providence High School can do the same for our graduation ceremony tonight. Just like Taylor, we are determined to create an unforgettable experience for our graduates and their families. By drawing inspiration from her resilience and ability to adapt, we are confident in our ability to overcome any challenges the weather may present. Let us remember that nothing can deter our spirit and enthusiasm as we come together to celebrate this remarkable achievement. We want as many friends and family to attend tonight’s East Providence High School Graduation at 6:30pm. Please be prepared in the case of any passing showers.
Go Townies!

As a graduation present, the PTSA has given a commemorative t-shirt to each member of the Class of 2023! Congratulations on your well deserved success and best wishes to wherever life takes you!! 🎓

** ATTN 8TH GRADE FAMILIES- Open House tonight 6-8pm **
Reminder, the EPHS Open House for incoming freshmen is this evening Thursday Jan 12th from 6-8pm.

Detail on 22-23 Calendar Update (via the EP Post)
January 2 day off
Forand requested and the committee approved a change to the upcoming school calendar, which will now see the district observe January 2 as the official New Year’s holiday because January 1 falls on a Sunday this year.
The superintendent noted East Providence was the lone district in the state that had students returning to school on the Monday after the holiday break instead of Tuesday, Jan. 3.
Due to the change, the last day of the 2022-23 term also needed to be altered to account for a 180th day.
Instead of ending on Friday, June 16, the last day of classes will be Tuesday, June 20. Monday, June 19, is now a nationally recognized holiday, “Juneteenth,” which will be in its third year as a means of commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans on June 19, 1865.
June 20 will be a half-day for students, but a full-day for staff.
