COLLEGIVM LVMINOSVM

COLLEGIVM LVMINOSVM Hallstrom III, Grand Master of Masons.

This page represents a subordinate lodge operating under a charter granted by The Grand Lodge of the Most Ancient and Honorable Society of Free and Accepted Masons for the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations chartered on March 30, 2015 by Most Worshipful Wyman P. The COLLEGIVM LVMINOSVM is a learned or scholarly society that exists to promote academic disciplines and appreciation of

the liberal arts and sciences within the profession of Speculative Freemasonry. The COLLEGIVM LVMINOSVM studies the enlightened principles that are the foundation of the noble pillars of Freemasonry; to actively promote and spread the Arts and Sciences as our founding Brothers intended. The COLLEGIVM LVMINOSVM will foster the education of the Craft at large through prepared research and open discussion of topics concerning history, symbolism, philosophy, and current events. Members will fully support the lodge with our time, talents, and treasures, such that the COLLEGIVM LVMINOSVM is never in want for men to participate, never in want for quality of work and pride thereof, and never in want of the funds to do so elegantly.

It was a pleasure to have Robert Geake as our speaker last night on General and Freemason James Mitchell Varnum at the Lodge of Research and the Masonic Grand Lodge of Rhode Island Semiquincentennial Lodge 250 first public lecture of the year. The Lodges are celebrating the anniversary of our Independence with a series of lectures that are free and open to the public. Gen. Varnum was an amazing part of RI history, but also had an important and often under-examined role in the history of freemasonry. We will continue to examine his writings and welcome interested participants.

Our next event is with Dr. Samuel Biagetti on September 30th, 2026 at the Scottish Rite auditorium in Cranston.

Thank you to MW Gil Fontes, Grand Master of Masons in Rhode Island, his immediate predecessor as Grand Master, General Rick Baccus, and the organizers of the Semiquincentennial Lodge for helping to make it a great night.
