East Prairie Schools held their annual district orientation Aug. 17-21 and welcomed one new teacher, Mr. Travis Friese. Mr. Friese is from Jackson, MO, and will be teaching 7-12 grade art. He attended SEMO and currently lives in Sikeston. Mr. Friese comes to EPHS with seven years' experience, having previously taught at both Sikeston and Marquand-Zion. Welcome to East Prairie R-2, Mr. Friese!

Throughout the week, teachers engaged in CPR training, safety training from Gray Ram Tactical, numeracy training, and various staff meetings and activities. We would like to thank the board of education for providing breakfast on Tuesday and lunch on Wednesday of this week. We would also like to thank students Ava-Catherine Adams, FBLA President, for singing the national anthem and Rhemington Harvey, FTA President, for leading us in the Pledge of Allegiance. Open house for parents was held Thursday, August 20, from 5-7pm. EP faculty and staff are looking forward to a great school year!
