The Mayor's Youth Program provides opportunities for Peoria area youth to learn about public service by working with numerous city departments, operations, community organizations, and projects.
Throughout the program, Peoria area youth assist in infrastructure improvements, beautification, and clean-up projects throughout the city. They develop life skills by attending learning workshops, career pathway lectures, and business tours.
This week, participants had the opportunity to visit MTI's Welding lab! Here they learned basic welding skills and how the trade can be applied to a career in public service.
