ABOUT SATURDAY!-
We had a great day of learning, exploring, and experiencing yesterday at the airport. Aside from the ramp tour and preflight, 29 folks were introduced to two unique careers; Air Traffic Control by way of tower tours and Aviation Security featuring an AA Female Air Marshal! We didn’t fly but everyone had a lesson in the FMX. We have two fly days planned in August! On Saturday, 8/8, Hangar Day at the Palo Alto Airport and Saturday, 8/22, at the Hayward Airport.

We have pop-ups during the week where we meet youth in parks, schools, and Clubhouses.

Bay Area Urban Eagles celebrated 3 years of doing something rare — bringing aviation and aerospace career opportunities directly to young people in Bay Area communities that have historically had little to no access to the industry.

In just three years the organization has served over 500 youth through free ground school, flight simulator training, mentorship from industry professionals, and hands-on experiences that open doors most kids in these communities never knew existed.

The gala was a room full of students, NASA astronauts, mayors, pilots, board members, and believers. All there because they know the aviation workforce gap is real — and so is the talent sitting right in front of them.
