Langston Hughes Elementary School LHS is a Pre-K through Grade 5 elementary school named in honor of James Mercer Langston Hughes.

Langston Hughes School of Publishing and Fine Arts (LHS) thrives on academic excellence! Its dedicated administration, faculty and staff are committed to preparing our students to compete in today’s global society. At Langston Hughes School, students flourish in both academics and fine arts. Within this structure, the curriculum of Language Arts Literacy, Mathematics, Fine Arts, and Technology are part of every student's daily schedule.

Good afternoon Parents/Guardians,

Today is the Spring basketball tryout for Golden State Warriors AAU Basketball Team. Tryouts will begin today at 5:30pm in Langston Hughes Gym for students (girls & boys) in Grades 2 to 3. At 7pm, students (girls & boys) in Grades 4 to 5 can tryout. You must wear comfortable clothing (sweats,t shirt, basketball shorts), sneakers and you must bring your own basketball. Parents you can sit in the bleachers or wait in your car outside for your child.

If you have an older child in middle school (Grades 6-8) and they have some skills, you can bring them to the 7 pm tryouts.

P.S. This is not a tryout session for LHS Bulldogs. This is a separate team organized by the EO recreation.
