Please join us in welcoming Principal Dr. Erika D. Cooke as the new principal of Gordon Parks Academy!
A dedicated educational leader with more than 20 years of service in the East Orange School District, Dr. Cooke brings a wealth of experience as a classroom teacher at Althea Gibson Academy, Teacher Trainer, and Assistant Principal of Sheila Y. Oliver Academy. Dr. Cooke is deeply committed to fostering academic excellence, building strong relationships with students, families, and staff, and creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where every student can thrive. We look forward to the positive impact Dr. Cooke’s experience, dedication, and collaborative leadership will have on the Gordon Parks Academy community.
Meet Principal Dr. Cooke at her Meet & Greet on August 25, from 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. The event will be held on the playground at the corner of Greenwood Avenue and William Street. In the event of excessive heat or rain, the Meet & Greet will be held in the Wellness Room on the first floor. There will be light refreshments, music, lawn games, and etc.
