Studio recital today, Waterbury. Feeling surprisingly calm..normally stressed to the max. I credit my yoga practice. 🙏 🎶 ❤️

We're off to a great start in the new Chickering Rd studio in 2021. Last week we held duet classes for students in book 2 and up. A twist on the traditional Suzuki group lessons in this COVID Delta time. Everyone had a good time, worked on rhythm, listening skills, and feeling the pulse. Plus we learned about transposing to different keys. There actually may be an opening this fall so do inquire!

4/19! Ryan just gave his Book One Recital via Zoom to family, a couple of his classroom teachers and 6 studio families! Well done Ryan!! Thanks to Tenzo, Anna, Earl, Cal, Bella and David for attending and those who played. Nice time together! Mom did a fabulous job orchestrating Zoom for this performance. Bravo!!

Happy February Vacation! My studio is in the middle of a practice challenge...100 Days of practice in a row. As of this writing, we are at day 33. I put together this rhyme tonight to send my students off...practicing every day without a piano in many cases. Enjoy!

Fingers playing in the air
On a table, on a chair
On your pillow, on your bed,
Maybe even on your head!
Alas, our pianos do not travel well
And so we listen, sing, and spell
the names of notes, the names of songs,
Whatever it takes! We move along!
Those violins and flutes it seems
Can travel anywhere you dream
In a suitcase, in a tote
You can slip them in your coat
You can take them on a boat
On a plane, across a moat
A piano, a piano I do declare
It may not travel, but I don't care!

Turning in practice sheets just got a little more fun. For every 10 practice sheets, there is a star and a prize. Prizes are fun practice props, like newspaper pencils and dice.
